Most people charged with shoplifting do not steal anything close to the amounts described above. However, all but one of those charges are considered felonies rather than misdemeanors. If you have been accused of stealing more than $1,000 in goods, you will be charged with a felony. When you face serious charges, you need serious defense.

- Between $150,000 and $750,000: A jail sentence of 1 to 5 years and up to $10,000 in fines.
- Between $750,000 and $1.5 Million: A jail sentence of 2 to 8 years and up to $15,000 in fines.
- $1.5 Million or more: A jail sentence of 3 to 10 years and up to $20,000 in fines.
